Precious Pampered Pets

By John M Adams

For many of us, our pets are our babies! They've been a part of our family for years, and we love them as much as they love us. Sometimes we even adopted pets to help fill the emptiness in our homes when our children grew up and moved away or a spouse passed away, so those pets truly have become family to us.

We like to take our pets with us everywhere we go, and we enjoy every moment of our time with them. In fact, there's a whole industry that revolves around dog travel and pet travel these days because we've become so attached. Our beloved pets make our lives more joyful and entertaining. And-okay, we admit it-we tend to spoil them just a bit. Yes, our pets often lead a very pampered life.

There are so many wonderful things we can buy for our pets these days, and just like spoiling our human children, we thrive on spoiling our little critters and four legged babies, too. It's not uncommon to buy our pet's presents or pet gifts for the holidays or birthdays or other special occasions.

We even buy heart shaped gift treats on Valentine's Day to show our feline companion how much we really love them. People will even hang Christmas stalking up for each of their pets as they would for children and fill them with goodies for pets. We even enjoy buying treats for them to eat without any reason at all.

In fact, some pampered pets are better dressed than their owners. We love to outfit and adorn our favorite pups with sweaters, sweatshirts, and even little dresses. Ruffles, booties, and even hats fill our closets-all in miniature sizes for our dogs-and in all kinds of colors and designer styles.

Chances are there is a toy box or basket that is overflowing in our living rooms because we can't resist buying our pets a new toy when we are out shopping. Similar to real children, we have to periodically clear out their toy boxes and then donate the older toys to the humane society so other pets can enjoy them because we just can't stop buying fun new things. Dog toys including chewy toys, squeaky toys, bone-shaped toys, plush stuffed animals, and balls all render us helpless to say "no."

It can get ridiculous at times. But honestly, our pets inspire so much love in us it is hard not to pamper them. Where else in the world will you see such unconditional love?

If the largest downfall we have, is pampering our pets, who are going to blame us? I will be happy to be accused of such things and I will never deny it. My pets that I pamper are very dear to my heart! Moreover, I will not stop pampering them anytime in the near future. So let this be a uniting call for pet lovers and let the rest just deal with it! - 29953
